Why talent abroad?

plot twist: many of them moved somewhere sunny.

German, Dutch and Nordic natives now live in places like Cyprus, Malta, Greece, Portugal or Thailand. They want to keep a job that pays for their dream life.

  • native speakers

Their language and culture, right in your team. Your customers hear their own language, with the right tone and the right jokes.

  • motivated

This job pays for the life they chose. People who live where they are happy tend to focus better at work, and they want to keep the job.

  • remote done right

Many of our people have moved to countries with lower rents and living costs, so they can offer lower rates than they could back home.

  • no upfront payment

Nothing to pay until they start.

Contracts, simply

B2B or employed? your choice.

Most hires work on a B2B contract. If you’d rather employ them, an Employer of Record (EOR) partner can do it for you.

B2B contract

  • The hire invoices you every month as a freelancer or through their own company.
  • No home-country payroll or employer contributions.
  • The lowest cost, and the one used in our cost examples.
  • Make sure the working relationship fits a contractor model in your country. When in doubt, ask a lawyer or choose an EOR.

Employer of Record (EOR)

  • An EOR partner employs the hire in their country of residence, with a local contract, payroll and benefits.
  • You direct the work; the EOR handles compliance.
  • The EOR charges its own monthly fee on top of salary.
  • We can set it up for you.

Good questions

the short answers.

What does RemoteAbroad do?

RemoteAbroad finds native German, Dutch, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian speakers who already live abroad, for companies in Germany, the Netherlands and the Nordics. You get the same language and culture in your team, often for significantly less than hiring the same role at home.

How can your rates be so affordable?

Because we practise what we preach. Our whole team works remotely, just like the people we place, so we don’t pay for expensive offices or the overhead of a traditional agency. That lets us keep our fees low and pass the savings on to you.

How much does RemoteAbroad charge?

About 4–8% of what the same hire would earn at home in their first year, split into four payments of 25%: on the start date and after months 1, 2 and 3. If the hire leaves, the remaining payments stop. Traditional agencies in Europe usually charge 15–30% of first-year salary, which is 2–3 months’ salary or more.

What do I pay before someone starts?

Nothing. The first of the four fee payments is due on the hire’s start date.

What if the hire isn’t the right fit?

You approve the screening questions before we search, and we keep adjusting the shortlist to your feedback. If a hire leaves within the first three months, the remaining fee payments stop, so you never pay the full fee for someone who didn’t stay.

How fast will I see candidates?

Your first screened profiles usually arrive within a week. You approve the screening questions before we start, and we keep adjusting to your feedback.

Which roles can you fill?

Sales, account management, partnership managers, business development, customer success, customer support, marketing and SEO, branding, copywriting and e-commerce. Another role or language in mind? Just ask.

How is the hire employed?

Most hires work on a B2B contract and send you a monthly invoice. If you prefer employment, we can set it up through an Employer of Record (EOR) partner, which handles the local contract, payroll and compliance for an extra monthly fee.

What about time zones and working hours?

Working hours are agreed between you and the candidate for each job. Many of our candidates live in the same time zone as Central Europe or within one or two hours of it; others live further away and overlap with part of your day. You decide what the role needs.
